Dawn’s Embrace

I remember driving for hours around New Zealand's South Island.  I hunted for waterfalls, lakes and mountain scenery that I could capture at every part of the day.  On this day I was just out driving, far from where I intended to stay and I remember the road was getting smaller and smaller, less and less paved. Eventually it turned into a 4x4 road altogether. I drove on, and finally came up to this old pier looking out at an amazing lake. I decided to hang out down at this pier for a long while, just enjoying the wide open space and waiting for the sun to drop below the mountains. The light haze in the air added to the ambience and perfection of this scene.
