Fading Light

This is the image I used on the cover of my first book, The Kingdom of Maui.  I used it because it perfectly sums up Maui.  It's raw and it's mythical and it's beauty is unsurmountable.  The lava rocks, palm trees and the turquoise blue ocean at sunset are the culmination of all the wonderful natural elements that make up Maui. Fading Light is taken from an area that has been photographed millions of times and even still, it's a place that always looks amazing.
