Hidden Light

The Road to Hana is filled with picturesque waterfalls, but depending on how much rain the island has had over the last few days determines how much flow the waterfalls are putting out.  Sometimes it's just flooding water everywhere, other times it's barely a trickle. This day it was absolutely perfect.  I had been wanting to photograph this waterfall for a long time, but since it is several hours from my house I never was able to catch it quite right. Finally, on a day in late June after some unseasonal rains in the area, I headed out there and was treated to this beautiful sight. The bonus on this day was I was treated to a double waterfall instead of the standard one that normally flows in this area. Framing it with the Ti leaves in the foreground added a nice touch to this image.  Because it was raining off and on this day, the leaves were still wet and added a delightful touch to the overall image.
