Wanaka

Winter and fog on an early morning on the South Island of New Zealand led to this capture of the famous Wanaka tree growing out of the lake. One of the things I really like about this image is the three birds sitting in the tree.  While this tree is highly photographed all year long, in winter, the Wanaka Tree presents a striking and unique appearance. The tree's bare, twisted branches and the surrounding snow-covered landscape create a mesmerizing scene. The contrast between the tree's dark, gnarled branches and the pristine white snow enhances its visual impact.
