Widowmaker

There is a hike in East O'ahu that takes you up to this viewpoint and beyond.  If you look closely there is a trail to the peak of this mountain. There are extremely steep cliffs on either side and with the intense winds we get in Hawaii this becomes very dangerous.  As an ex-firefighter, I've learned to be a lot more cautious than my younger, dumber self may have been. There have been numerous body recoveries in this area because of the treacherous conditions. As I reached this point those rain clouds got a little thicker around me and started to drizzle on me.  I knew this was as far as I was going on this day. I love my life and I love this powerful, majestic and foreboding image I was able to capture from this deadly hike!
