Artist notes:

The waters off of the North shore of Kaua‘i get pretty crazy in the winter time.  Sometimes in the summer too they can be quite intrepid, as they were this day.  I had just finished shooting another location and was on my way to another spot when I framed this up.  I really liked what I saw especially as the water was so violent and the rest of the scene was so beautiful.  So, I decided to forego the other location and focus on this area.  I’m glad I did because I really love the way this image came out!
